Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Nakagawa Kaho, trading as NUMA (“NUMA”, “we”) for your use of the NUMA app. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who can use NUMA

You must be at least 18 years old. NUMA’s nutrition plans are designed for adults and are not suitable for children or teenagers.

NUMA is not designed for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have or are recovering from an eating disorder, or who have a medical condition that affects what they should eat. If any of these apply to you, speak to a doctor or registered dietitian before using a calorie or weight plan.

2. NUMA is not medical advice

NUMA gives general nutrition and wellness information. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. We are not doctors or dietitians, and nothing in the app replaces advice from one.

Calorie and macro targets are estimates from standard formulas and from what you log. Estimated weight change is a projection, not a promise. Bodies differ, and results are not guaranteed.

Stop using a plan and seek medical help if you feel unwell, dizzy or faint, or if your eating or weight is causing you distress.

3. How NUMA uses AI

Some features use artificial intelligence, including meal scanning from photos and the coach (“Pip”). AI can be wrong. It can misjudge a portion, miss an ingredient or give an answer that does not fit your situation.

Always check AI results before relying on them. In particular, never rely on NUMA to tell you whether a food is safe for an allergy, intolerance or medical diet. Check with the restaurant or the product label.

4. Restaurant and food data

Nutrition figures for restaurant dishes and foods come from restaurants, public databases, other users or our own estimates. “NUMA Verified” means a restaurant gave us its figures; it does not mean we tested the food. Recipes and portions change, and we cannot guarantee any figure is accurate.

5. Your account

Keep your sign-in details private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You can delete your account at any time in Profile. Deleting it removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. NUMA Plus subscriptions

NUMA is free to use with limits. NUMA Plus is an optional paid subscription that raises those limits and adds features described in the app at the time you subscribe.

Subscriptions are sold through Apple’s App Store and billed to your Apple ID. A subscription renews automatically at the price shown unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If a free trial is offered, you will be charged when it ends unless you cancel before then.

You manage and cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings, not in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Prices may change for future periods; we will tell you beforehand.

7. Acceptable use

Do not misuse NUMA: do not try to break or overload it, access other people’s data, copy or resell its content, upload anything unlawful or that you have no right to share, or use automated tools to extract data.

We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or abuses a feature, for example by scanning far more than a person reasonably could.

8. Content you add

You keep ownership of what you add, such as photos, custom foods and notes. You give us permission to store and process it to run the service for you, and to use it in aggregated or anonymised form to improve NUMA.

9. Our liability

NUMA is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from decisions you make based on information in the app.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes and ending

We may update NUMA and these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app and may ask you to accept the new terms. You can stop using NUMA at any time.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Consumer rights you have under the law of the place you live are not affected.
